Bringing out the best in your
dog: Canine Campus training classes
The
Companion Concept
Many people who’ve had dogs in their lives several times
instinctively know that dogs appreciate leadership. A dog without a
leader isn’t as happy as a dog that knows who the boss of the family
is. ( Just to be fair to both genders, we’re referring here to your
dog as “it”.)
A dog that knows who the leaders of the pack are understands where
it fits in your family’s “pack” hierarchy. Dogs generally enjoy
being part of whatever activities and excitement the dynamic pack
leaders lead or introduce them to.
If you make activities seem interesting and your enthusiasm is
contagious, your dog will be pleased to join in, doing tasks you ask
it to do and being cooperative while waiting to play its part.
The Companion Concept of dog management does not depend on food
treats. Leadership, not bribery, provides enough inspiration to most
dogs to participate in the activities you invite them to do. The
Companion Concept provides dogs with guidance, consistency and
praise when they perform well.
