Bringing out the best in your
dog: Canine Campus training classes
Group
Classes
At Canine Campus, all dogs are treated
as individuals. Each dog learns differently, and the educational
needs of each dog and its human guardians are taken into
consideration in the group setting.
Dogs of all ages are welcome at Canine Campus- and we know from
experience that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
A well-trained dog must be able to remember its manners in public
and wherever there are distractions. Good training can even save
your dog’s life.
So that each dog and its human guardian can receive
the attention they need and are able to progress at their own speed,
Canine Campus training classes are small.
Before you and your dog begin an six-week training series, you first
invest in a private consultation with instructor Joann Bergeron for
you and your dog. This is an opportunity to share your hopes and
concerns about your dog, and make a plan to achieve specific
training goals.
“Dogs can start classes at all different ages, “Joann says.
“For puppies, a good time to start is when pups display confidence
and willingness- often at six months old, or earlier.”
Training classes are approximately one hour long and begin with all
the dogs on leash, working through a series of maneuvers among the
other canine students and their handlers. After class the dogs are
rewarded with an exuberant group romp, while humans are given a
summary of the day’s lesson to take away with them to help them to
practice with their dogs between sessions at Canine Campus.
People who practice the lessons regularly with their dogs between
training sessions will see the best results- a happy, well-mannered
dog that is a joy to have in the family.
Please note, group classes are seasonal and begin in early
spring. |
